#MusicoftheEarth

Fun, unique, and information-packed!  We honor the native peoples of North and South America by exploring their traditional music and sounds. Students experience these ancient cultures through the sounds of authentic indigenous instruments, including Eagle Bone Whistle, Deer Hoof Rattle, Aztec Wind Whistle, giant frame drums, bird flutes, conch shell, and much more. They learn how these instruments are made from natural materials, and how they relate to the cultures’ myths and customs. They also learn the tradition of giving thanks to our planet Earth for all it provides. And with the virtual environment, they get close-up views of the instruments and can post questions. In addition to interactive musical demonstrations, virtual programs include maps, vocabulary lists, and pictures and videos from the traditional cultures.  Appropriate for all grades, from Pre-K to 12.

OOooooo! Viewers are treated to the eerie sounds of exotic world instruments -- The moans of an Ocean Harp, (used in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds”), the whisper of an Aztec Wind Whistle, the rustle of Deer-Hoof Rattles, the booming of giant drums, the shriek of an Eagle Bone Whistle, the crash of a gong, the haunting tones of crystal singing bowls, and more!   With the virtual environment, students can see close-up images of the instruments and post questions. They learn how to make the strange, wild cries of the Australian didjeridoo, and are shown how to construct one for themselves. And they learn to sing an authentic Native American wolf chant, ending in blood-curdling HOWLS!  Virtual programs also include maps, vocabulary lists, and pictures and videos from the traditional cultures.  Super-fun, totally unique and information-packed!

Fun, unique and information-packed!  Students learn how music of world cultures relates to the Earth and the Environment. Instruments made from tree branches, sea shells, gourds, skin, bone and hooves create sounds of wind, rain, thunder, whale songs, bird calls and more! Energy conservation and recycling are discussed.  Students learn to make instruments from recycled cardboard tubes. Everyone sings a Native American chant, howls like a wolf, and discovers how to mimic bird songs and the wild animal sounds of the Australian Outback!  The virtual environment allows students to see instruments up-close and to post questions, and include maps, vocabulary lists, and pictures and videos from the traditional cultures.

Really fun, unique and information-packed!  World cultures come alive with exotic instruments from around the globe - Giant drums, crystal singing bowls, Australian didgeridoos, Chinese gongs, Native American flutes and chants, Aztec wind whistle, Scottish Bagpipes, and much more!  Students learn about nature and the environment, and discover new ways to make musical sounds and build their own instruments. And with the virtual environment, they get close-up views of the instruments and can post questions. In addition to interactive musical demonstrations, virtual programs include maps, vocabulary lists, and pictures and videos from the traditional cultures.  Appropriate for all grades, from Pre-K to 12.
