“Celebrating World Cultures & Our Planet!”

Journeys With Sound presents:

Now in their 14th season, Journeys With Sound has performed in museums throughout the tri-state area, including the NY Hall of Science, Long Island Children’s Museum, the Newark Museum, and the Bruce Museum of Arts and Science in CT.

Our “Music of the Earth” programs incorporate dozens of instruments from traditional and indigenous cultures around the globe.  These are authentic instruments made from natural materials and objects, animals, etc.. Programs are interactive and lots of fun, in addition to being very educational.  Emphasis is placed on cultural traditions, their history and practices, and their relationships to nature and the environment.   The sciences are also explored, including biology, physics of vibration and acoustics, and even discussion of crystals and computer-chip design as they relate to music and vibration. Workshops involving hands-on instrument exploration and instrument-building are also available.

Programs can be geared for all ages, from preschool and grade school through young adult and family shows.  Adult performances are also offered.

All the programs listed on this website are appropriate for museum presentations.  Special programs are available for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Solstice, Earth Week (April) and St. Patrick’s Day.
